The majority of Dickens World is accessible by wheelchair (or pushchair). Where there are steps or stairs there is an alternative route with level, ramped or lift access. For example it may not be possible for some visitors to use the steps and staircases associated with the footbridges that cross the water feature but alternative step free routes are available.
Please be advised that access to the Great Expectations Boat Ride is limited to individuals that meet certain criteria, including (for Health and Safety reasons) being able to independently transfer into and out of the boat ride without the assistance of team members. Strobe lighting is also used within this part of the attraction.
Dickens World recreates a period which is often dark and atmospheric, and lighting levels are consequently low and try and replicate this. If this is likely to adversely affect your visit please let us know and we shall try our best to assist you.
Dickens World has over 15 designated spaces for disabled visitors to the front of our building for those displaying a European Blue Badge. These spaces are closest to the entrance and there is no parking charge.
For those visitors traveling with a group coach access is available at the back of the building with a short distance to the front of the building for access.

Dickens World do have five portable Induction Hearing Loops for visitors that are hard of hearing, please enquire at our admissions desk regarding the use of these within the attraction.

Disabled visitors are priced at our usual admission rates however their essential carer, if applicable, is complimentary.
Throughout Dickens World we have designated accessible toilets for visitors.
Within our attraction we have three designated access lifts to our upper level. The dimensions of these are 1400mm deep, 1100mm wide with door opening of 900mm.
Assistance and support dogs are welcome however are not permitted on the Great Expectations Boat Ride.
